Prepaid Calling Cards: Don’t Leave Home Without One
By Triston Huntsmin
People are always making phone calls. There is always someone to call and something to talk about. There are phones in every home and store in the country. Sometimes, however, it gets frustrating to pay so much to make long distance calls or to tr to find enough change to make a call at a pay phone. Fortunately, there are prepaid calling cards that can save the day.
Prepaid calling cards are just what their names says. Simply, they are a card that you prepay to make phone calls. You can buy prepaid calling cards at a variety of stores, supermarkets, and gas stations throughout the country. You can spend as little as ten dollars or as much as one hundred dollars on a card. The more money you spend, the more minutes you will be able to use the card to talk.
Prepaid calling cards are easy to use. There is an eight hundred number that you dial, followed by a pin number that you enter. An operator will tell you how many minutes remain on your prepaid calling card and then ask you to enter the number you wish to call. It is as simple as that. Dial the number, listen to the phone ring, and then have a nice conversation with a family member or friend.
Prepaid calling cards are convenient. When you are out and about and need to make a call, instead of having to find the correct amount of change, just pull your prepaid calling card out of your wallet and begin. No change needed. Or when you are wanting to make a long distance call, no need to worry about how much it will cost, just use your prepaid calling card to make the call.
You will definitely save money using a prepaid calling card. Not only will you be able to stop searching for spare change, but you will also be able to completely cancel your long distance phone service and use the card instead. There are no monthly fees and no charges per call. Once you buy the minutes you can use them to call a neighbor or a friend on the other side of the country.
Another great benefit of using a prepaid calling card is that you prepay. You know how much you are spending when you purchase the card, so there are no surprise phone bills at the end of the month. Your prepaid calling card will not work when the minutes run out, so you can easily track how much you have spent and how long you have talked. What a relief to not have a huge phone bill each month.
Prepaid calling cards are easy to use, they are really convenient for people with busy lifestyles, and they erase the dreaded monthly long distance phone bill when used instead of a plan. What more could you ask for? Get a prepaid calling card and don’t leave your home without it!

Are there any prepaid cell phone services like virgin mobile?
I currently have Virgin Mobile prepaid cell phone service. I only have to pay when I need to. I now pay either $10 for 1000 texts or $20 for unlimited texting. The only problem is that I don’t like their phones. Do you know any other phones or phone services like virgin mobile? And oh yeah, I would prefer if you mentioned a texting phone.! Thanks.!!
Prepaid cell phone service with unlimited texting?
so right now i have virgin mobile and its way too expensive for texting so i was wondering if theres any prepaid phone services (pay as you go) that has unlimited texting (or large packages of texts) that you can buy montly or whatever.
i really need a cell phone (an inexpensive one if possible) and I don’t get a contract phone until Janurary.
How about…what is it the firefly phone or something? The one where you have 5 phone numbers on your phone. No offense but your 13, you really don’t need a phone at that age. Unless of course there is alot of danger in the area where you live and you need it to call your parents incase of a problem. Also I think that needs to be your parents decision unless you have a job and are willing to pay for your phone service.
what prepaid cell phone service is best for a 13 year old kid?
I am 13 years old and i want a cell phone, i think im going to go the prepaid route. BUT, i want a phone that has unlimited text messaging. most prepaid services charge 10 or 15 cents per message sent and received. what is my best option? should i sign up for a plan? or am i to young? im so confused please help.
Virgin Mobile is ok. coverage depends on where you live. mine is pretty good. I have a mantra phone which really is a good phone for $30. never had a dropped call but don’t talk much. text messages are not delayed unless you don’t have signal. i’m cheap and their prices are pretty cheap so i go with them. been with them for 3 years now.
If you decide to go with Virgin Mobile, use this code(AGpvWXLq) when you activate your account when you add $20 or more to your phone for the first time. 60 FREE mins for both of us. any questions just email me.

Which has better prepaid cell phone service: Net 10 or Virgin Mobile?
I am already aware of the costs of both prepaid services and I am also familiar their plans. However I was wondering if anyone has personal reviews. Other than the price, how would you rate the service and quality of these two providers, and which would you recommend to someone who needs a basic prepaid cell phone service?
Thanks
Also how would you rate the service reception as well, in terms of problems with dropped calls, delayed text messages, etc.
Thanks
Alltel, I pay $1 a day for unlimited mobile to Mobile calls, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited text messages. But regular calls are $0.10 a minute
If you are into heavy texting/messaging , in prepaid, you have only a few options besides VM.
Att Gophone. Biggest variety of phones available because you can just put the sim card into any unlocked gsm phone (Tmobile phones are gsm too.) Has $19.99 unlimited messaging plan w/ text/pic/video/im and 9.99 1000 message plan.
Talk is 25 cents a minute for flat rate. They have one thing on the 1000 message plan that VM doesn’t which is great. Rollover. If you topup before your 30 days are up, you keep the unused messages/texts to be used in your next 1000 pack. Unlimited of course, there is no point to rollover.
Verizon prepaid. They have unlimited messaging for $20 a month. Text, pic/video/instant messaging included. No 1000 message plan.
They don’t allow the use of pda/smartphones/Blackberries/Pocket pcs. The Verizon Blitz is a nice cheap slider text phone w/ full keyboard. Verizon prepaid phones cannot be used on regular Verizon accounts unitl they have had an active prepaid account for six months.
They are also 25 cents-a minute for talk. Both Verizon and Att prepaid, you have to buy the 25 cent talk plan then add the text /message plan to it. You don’t pay anything for talk rates unless you do use voice minutes.
T-mobile has the Sidekick unlimited web/im/text plan for $30 a month and talk is 15 cents per minute. It can only use Sidekicks though.
If you are a phone fanatic and text freak, I would recommend Att gophone first and Verizon prepaid second.
