Car Accident Personal Injury Claim - Solicitors dragging their heels & Barrister involvement?
To cut a long story short, I suffered serious multiple injuries in a car accident 16 months ago & while treatment is still ongoing I do have a definite prognosis for the 'outcome' of my injuries from my consulting surgeon so there is no question over the long term effects of my injuries.
However, my solicitors seem to be very reluctant to get things moving with the claim and despite continued 'pestering' from myself they still have not obtained the medical reports from my surgeon or physiotherapy department in order that they can obtain the required "Independent" medical report in order to process my claim & seem very laxed about even trying to get them.
This leads me to believe that whatever the delay in their action is, it is purely for their own financial benefit & not mine and when I questioned them today I was told "it will take a long time to obtain all the medical documents" and they need to get a barrister involved. Yet when I telephoned the treating hospital today they told me copies of everything can be obtained within 30 days.Bearing in mind I have been asking them politely since November to ask for these copy reports & they are apparently 'Still sorting things out' ...........
My question therefore is (A) As a client of theirs (And therefore they are working for me, not the other way round), am I entitled to demand that they move quicker to resolve the case and (B) Why does a Barrister have to be involved? The other party admitted full liability straight away so there is no question of apportioning blame - The other driver was on the wrong side of the road and hit me head on at 60m.p.h!!) and the surgeon has already given me a long term prognosis of future treatment (There is no chance of full recovery due to the severity of injury to one limb).

Are my Solicitors just 'stringing me along'?

**This is a U.K case

Assuming the accident was not your fault you can indeed claim for injuries. If the accident was a bit your fault but mostly the taxi driver's you can still claim but they will take some off the damages award for your bit of the blame.

Did you have a written job offer from the new guys? Was salary mentioned? Have you lost that chance or can you start later? Your dad is correct. You cannot claim loss of earnings from the old employer but you can from the new - so long as you have the paperwork to prove it.

Your insurance company should be in contact with their insurance company to work this out for you. It is their job.
You shouldn't have to pay for your damages if the other person had insurance. Their insurance should cover it.

How can I use a pre-paid visa debit card for my mastercard bill?
I received a pre-paid Visa debit card, but the best use I can get out of it is to put it toward my Chase mastercard bill. However, on the Chase website I can only see spots to link checking accounts to pay off the bills, no other options. Is this doable?

50/50 car crash claim... i only have liability so what happens?
if its 50/50 i have heard that each person just pays for their own repairs. however i only have liability meaning my insurance will not pay to fix my car only the others in the case that it is my fault. so if its 50/50 does that mean that i will have to pay for all my repairs from my pocket or does it mean the other guy in the crash's insurance will pay for half of the damage?

please help

injury compensation claim?
i had an accident 2 weeks ago where a taxi driver hit me. he was not looking ahead n was lookin in the other direction n he hit me. i was dragged under the car n along as he stopped. i injured my knee, fractured ribs, sprained wrist/ankle and damaged musles in legs and shoulder where the wheel went over me. it will take up2 6 wks 2 walk properly.

the driver at the scene admitted he was not looking. he said this in front of witneses. the ambulance took me away but the police were there and i pressume questioned him.

the police havent called me at all to take my version of incident. i called them but i was told the constable dealing with it will call me if required.

1 - can i claim compensation for injury?

2 - i had already handed my notice at my current work as i had a new job prospect ( i still had 2 weeks of notice to work at time of accident). my dad says i cant claim loss of income as i had resigned frm work and the ins company will confirm this frm my work. is this tru?

Thats a rather selfish, uncaring attitude to adopt about some thing so serious as ending a marriage. Claiming money will do nothing for you, except alienate people around you. It takes two to tango, but if your partner doesn't dance well, thats no excuse to chop his feet of for spite, sorry, but the truth will out in the end. Just face up to the inevitable and make another life for yourself, think of it as a second chance to start your life again and plan it better this time. Good luck and happiness with your new life.

criminal injuries compensation and civil law?
if someone wins a criminal injuries compensation claim for mild post traumatic stress disorder approx $15,000 can they then go for more money against the convicted person in civil law?how much could they get if they could?
